ELECTRICUTILITY.AI / PUBLIC-SOURCE RESOURCES

Know the population. Keep the limits.

Source completeness and research completeness answer different questions. This page explains what the directory and events records establish.

3,421full EIA-861 respondent frame
2,909classified distribution utilities
512other respondents, preserved

What “full” means here

The directory includes all supplied respondents from the 2025 final EIA-861 Frame, including short-form EIA-861S records. It includes marketers, transmission entities and other respondents. “Full” describes this source population; it does not claim every current US organization or complete installed assets.

The 2,909 distribution utility IDs appear in the 2025 EIA Service Territory file. It is a subset of the directory, not a substitute for the complete frame.

State associations

Records retain their specific state basis: service territory, retail sales, short-form reported sales state or utility-data reported state. 16 respondents have no supplied state association and remain accessible in the full directory.

A respondent can occur in several states. State totals overlap. State association does not establish exact service boundaries, asset ownership, headquarters or purchasing responsibility.

Historical websites, visible gaps

1,089 records have a listed website matched from the historical 2022 HIFLD-derived service-territory layer. 2,332 records have no website in this match and display “Website unavailable.”

A matching EIA ID and screened entity name support attribution. The link may refer to a parent or have changed. No current operation or ownership of these websites is verified. URLs are not guessed. A 20-link reachability sample on October 15, 2026 found a failed historical Duke Energy Florida link and a PG&E operating record linked to its parent company. Both website values are excluded from the accepted match set. HTTP success alone does not establish operating-entity identity.

Coordinates and map scope

The source data contains historical service-polygon centroids. They are not office or facility locations. This website deliberately uses state-count coverage instead of displaying those points.

The map shapes derive from Census 2017 through US Atlas, with Alaska and Hawaii insets. Shapes provide state navigation only; they do not describe electric service areas.

Events are dated research records.

Event sources were checked 2026-10-15. Official organizers can amend dates, access rules and programs.

CONFIRMED EDITION

A dated source supports the listing.

Read the official edition before travel, attendance or exhibit commitments. Confirmed does not establish supplier eligibility.

DATES NOT VERIFIED

Avoid filling gaps with a guess.

Some listings identify a recurring event or organizer but do not establish the next edition’s full dates. These entries are excluded from the calendar download.

PAST EDITION

Historical context stays historical.

Past editions appear separately as reference records. They are not labeled upcoming or included in the confirmed-edition calendar.

Verify the record before an account decision.

Public access does not guarantee reuse rights, complete coverage or a supplier opportunity.
